All-In

Meaning and Definition of All-In in Online Gambling

The term All-in denotes a wagering action in poker wherein a participant commits their entire remaining table stake to the pot. From a regulatory and procedural standpoint, this maneuver is classified as a wager or raise of the totality of a player’s liquid assets present at the table, governed by the table stakes rule. In instances where the opposing player possesses a lesser stake, the wager is capped at the amount of the smaller stack, with the surplus returned to the initiating player to maintain equitable risk. Conversely, if the caller possesses a larger stake, their contribution is limited to the amount necessary to match the all-in player’s total commitment. Once an all-in declaration is validated, the player is technically precluded from further wagering actions until the conclusion of the round, and any subsequent betting by remaining players is conducted in a separate side pot.
