Apostille

The Apostille is an international standard of notarization. An Apostille on a document means that a notary in its issuance country certified its authenticity. This document shall then be accepted worldwide.

Not every country can deliver an Apostille. The countries able to do so are the ones who signed the Hague Convention of 1961. These countries are listed on the official website of the Hague Convention.

For countries who are not part of the Hague Convention, traditional notarization replaces the Apostille. The process may then imply sworn translation of the document and a longer procedure for acceptance in the country where it is destinated.
