Pit Manager

A pit manager, or pit boss, is a key supervisory role within land-based gaming establishments, responsible for the operational oversight of a designated group of gaming tables known as a pit. In a standard casino floor configuration, tables for games such as blackjack, roulette, and craps are arranged back-to-back to create a secure internal space for essential personnel. The pit manager exercises administrative authority over dealers and floormen, ensuring adherence to gaming protocols and internal controls. While floormen provide primary supervision and dispute resolution at the table level, the pit manager intervenes in instances of significant gaming discrepancies or complex regulatory issues. Their primary function is to maintain the integrity of play, manage personnel, and ensure full compliance with jurisdictional gaming regulations within their assigned area.
