VASP (Virtual Asset Services Provider)

A Virtual Asset Services Provider, or VASP for short, is a company whose activity is to provide services related to cryptocurrency.

This terminology appeared into law texts of various jurisdictions and does not represent a precise categorization. It can be understood as a formal way to designate a crypto company, crypto business, etc.

The wording “virtual assets” designates cryptocurrencies in a way that implies that they are non-physical assets.
